Today we together with Signe and Niels went to the inauguration of a Christian school approximately an hour's drive from Masaka. In Signe and Niels' invitation it said that the party started at 10 am - exactly , but when we arrived, they had not yet put up the chairs - AFRICA TIME! So after a little tour of the school we got back in the car and went to a local restaurant to eat and kill some time. It was really nice and we got some nice local breakfast: chapati , rice and katogo (whole cooked matoke bananas with a beef sauce). When we came back at 12 noon, everything was ready and the "party" could begin. The celebration meant sitting on a chair and listen to an awful lot of speeches, including the principal, Uganda's minister of security and a pastor. In addition, the founder of the school spoke. He is an American Republican and Christian and wish to include Christianity in all lessons taught at the school. Furthermore, it is very expensive to have a child attend the school, so it is only children of the wealthiest families who can afford to go there. The American's vision was that children who attended the school would be the future doctors, lawyers , entrepreneurs and politicians. As Danes it is difficult to understand the desire for a fusion of religion and schooling to so extreme a level as is the case at this school. He, the founder, even used the example of how far the U.S. is now lagging behind the best schools in the world after Christianity is no longer guideline for the teaching of all subjects. He would therefore like to restore the teaching that prevailed in the United States 40 years ago, which in turn seemed incomprehensible and grotesque in our view. After sitting for four hours, listening to the mile-long talk , placed on plastic chairs facing the minister in his office chair and a small table adorned with a nearly perfect ironed tablecloth and plastic flowers, we chose to quietly leave when the guided tour of the school started .... But an experience it was!

family and then on the minor things. He showed it by first filling the glass with rice and then three walnuts, whereby the lid could not be closed. But when he did it in reverse order the lid closed easily.
