School supplies

Rikke and Signe was in the office where they packed school supplies. We obviously pay school fees for all sponsored children, but at the start of each term, all sponsor children also get a package with the most basic school supplies such as notebooks and pencils, but also a few personal hygiene items such as toothbrush, toothpaste and soap. Anne-Mette, Emeli and Roxanne was at the Baby-Home to play with the kids (some of them had packed school supplies yesterday, so it was fair!)

Packed and ready for delivery to the schools

Gavin drove to the Solution and Rhema, where he delivered school supplies. A few schools have started schooling. More schools will start on Monday - and some start a little later, especially Secondary schools since graduating students from last school year are still waiting to get their final grades.

Ruth & Carsten was busy working on administrative tasks. Carsten is well underway with a longer FAQ compendium which he is getting ready for the new website, scheduled to start up next week. We've had some complaints about the website we have now, so our desire is to make the website more simple - and especially making it easily accessible for ourselves to edit in. Ruth ended up getting buried in accounting!

Handing out clothes in refugee camp, John King and more

Carsten visited the refugee camp at Sango Bay again today. This time he took Rebecca, Joyce and some young men from the church along. They had the car filled with clothes. We had collected clothes in the church and the second hand shop in Helsingoer, Denmark had donated funds to purchase some crates of clothes. It was a great chaos to hand out all the clothes, but of course it was all worth the trouble, because those poor people have such a great need for both clothes, food and blankets. We have decided that we will try to visit the refugee camp once a week, because we can not ignore this great need. You can help us by donating funds so we can purchase food, clothing or blankets. Make a donation under "Gift" in the Online Shop (marking the donation "refugee camp").

Gavin drove to John King school. He gave Anne-Mette, Signe, Emeli and Kathrine a lift to White Angel orphanage where they had a good time with the kids. (unfortunately we have no pictures of the fun!)

This is actually from our old website... but here's at least some pictures from the day, mainly a lot of fun at the baby home!
